Riding in the Rain? Here’s How to Help Them Show Up Dry(ish) and Safe
Share
If your young adult is biking to class or work, rain can turn a normal commute into a full-body disaster. But with a little planning, they can ride safely and arrive looking... at least mostly put together.
What Helps Most on Rainy Bike Days:
- A water-resistant or poncho-style rain jacket
- Fenders for their bike to prevent back splatter
- Plastic bags or dry sacks to store wet gear afterward
- A spare outfit or shoes at their destination
- Lights and reflective gear for safety
- Gloves, waterproof bag cover, and patience
How You Can Help:
- Include rain gear or bike accessories in care packages
- Encourage them to prep a “rainy day ride” kit at home
- Share the downloadable checklist and safety tips
- Remind them: wet happens, but soggy misery can be avoided
